Rupert Cox said – “I am delighted to be a finalist in the Outstanding Contribution to Local Food Development category, although while being the instigator of the concept of the Somerset Larder supplying EDF’s new power station at Hinkley Point, others have taken the project to become a reality.
Since moving roles to the Bath & West, the Larder work has given me the impetus to continue to provide opportunities for local producers to develop their businesses to succeed at the highest level.
I am equally delighted to see Michael Eavis, Martin Thatcher and David Baker all recognised for their contrition to local food and farming. As key players in the Bath & West family, it is reassuring to know that such distinguished individuals are supporting me in driving forward our Society for the next 50 years at The Showground near Shepton Mallet”.
