01st April, 2026

The Royal Bath & West Society is delighted to announce the return of the much‑loved Field to Food Learning Day, with an exciting new format for 2026. For the first time, the event will be delivered across two separate dates – 22 April and 21 October – enabling each day to offer a more intimate, high‑quality learning experience while reaching even more children overall.

Now in its 8th year, Field to Food Learning Day continues its mission to inspire primary school pupils by bringing the journey from field to fork to life through hands‑on learning. By delivering two smaller, focused events, the Society aims to accommodate growing demand from schools while maintaining the interactive, immersive feel that has become the hallmark of the programme.

Royal Bath & West representative, Lilanie Self, says:
“We’re thrilled to deliver Field to Food Learning Day in a new two‑day format. Splitting the event allows us to welcome more pupils than ever before, while ensuring each group enjoys a personal, engaging experience. Thanks to the generosity of our partners, volunteers, and the wider community, this year’s programme is set to be our most dynamic yet.”

Exciting Activities and Partners for 2026

This year’s Field to Food Learning Day will feature an inspiring lineup of hands‑on educational activities delivered by valued partners, including:

  • Belmont Estate – offering regenerative nature‑based learning experiences
  • Purbeck Ice Cream – sharing insights into dairy production and food provenance
  • National Grid – helping children explore energy, infrastructure, and sustainability
  • National Highways – showcasing the role of transport and safety in the food supply chain

In addition, the Royal Bath & West Society is delighted to welcome Yeo Valley, who will be handing out yogurts to every child attending the event, further enhancing pupils’ understanding of local food production.

Supporting the Next Generation

Field to Food Learning Day is supported by a dedicated team of volunteers who guide school groups around the Showground, helping to deliver an enriching and memorable day of discovery. Each event aims to engage children’s senses – to look, hear, smell, touch, and explore – providing a powerful and fun way to learn about British agriculture and the journey of our food.
