The Royal Bath & West of England Society are pleased to be able to offer an educational woodland walk experience here at the Showground.
If you are a school or home educator looking for opportunities to learn outdoors, then this is the perfect opportunity for students to use their senses and learn about their own natural environment. This is a unique outdoor learning experience that is abundant with opportunities for children to learn through exploring their natural surroundings. If you are looking for an activity to promote the wider curriculum, we would be delighted to invite you to the Bath & West Showground for a woodland walk.
We will provide you with a small pack for the experience, consisting of a very exciting woodland map, which includes activities incorporating the senses – there is even an opportunity for a small word search and woodland rubbings! Crayons and pencils will also be provided.
The Bath & West woodland trail is a free of charge experience offered to all local and surrounding schools / home educators.

The Booking Process
Step 1 – Make the initial enquiry as above
Step 2 – The booking will either be accepted, or the Society will reach out to offer alternative dates or find out additional information if necessary.
Step 3 – You will receive a confirmation letter alongside the relevant risk assessments.
Step 4 – Arrive to the Showground on your booked date where somebody will available to meet you to give you your woodland trail packs.

Follow the Pathway through our woodland and see what you can discover. There is so much for you to see, smell, hear and touch! Our Woodland Trail will take approximately 30 minutes.
